At the University of Oregon there are resources available for nontraditional students, the LGBTQIA+ community and black students.

The women in graduate sciences (UOWGS) “strives for gender equality by focusing on the professional development of women in all disciplines of science to enable them to become successful contributors to their fields.” In the Department of Biology, there is a womxn in neuroscience group who aim to “redefine the scientific community to be one in which womxn are empowered to pursue genuine self-expression, scientific endeavors, and career advancement at all levels.”

The women’s center and men’s center provide dedicated communities and various resources, including sexual violence prevention and education.
